Course overview
In this two-part workshop, you’ll learn the fundamental vocabulary and concepts needed to navigate blockchain, web3, NFTs, crypto, and metaverse spaces -–including tips on how to stay safe and avoid scams.

IRL & ONLINE LEARNING
Part One: In-person workshop February 4th from 10 am-4 pm, Location: Nashville Public Library

Tech Needs: You do not need to own or bring a computer in order to participate. Workshop One is informational with group activities. 

Part Two: Online zoom workshop, February 11th, 10 am-4 pm CT. Learn how to create and present your very first NFT. 
Tech Needs: Computer with steady internet connection. Google Chrome browser is recommended for the best experience. 

*Please note: if you do not have access to a computer you can try to borrow one from the public library. You will need to sign up for a library card prior to the date. For coordination support please contact Chuck.Beard@nashville.gov for assistance.

Laura Ó Reilly
Multimedia Artist/Storyteller, Creative Technologist & Founder of Technology Gap

Laura Ó Reilly ( L Ó R ) is a multimedia artist, storyteller, creative technologist and the founder of Technology Gap. Ó Reilly is an alumna of The New Museum’s creative tech incubator, NEW INC, where she built and led Wallplay Network, which grew to repurpose over 30 vacant storefronts providing space to the NYC arts community. Ó Reilly has exhibited her improvised vocal looping sound pieces at New York City galleries and has toured across Europe. She most recently premiered her six-part somatic art film series SUN IN THE MACHINE, in Chelsea NY this past September. It will be released in the Voxel metaverse as an NFT series and daily art improvisation game this winter.

Bonita Oliver
Multi-Disciplinary Artist & Web3 Consultant

Bonita Oliver is a multidisciplinary performance artist and improviser. Her work is about transitions- the process of moving through. She creates deeply emotional, body in space, concept art through voice, music, environmental soundscapes, and movement. The motivation is to heal personal and ancestral trauma in order to make way for discovery and connection. Bonita Oliver is an actress, award-winning filmmaker and member of (SAG/AFTRA) (NYWIFT) (WOCU) and a recipient of LMCC/UMEZ grants in 2021 as well as an Opera America residency, NYSCA/NYFA fellowship in 2022, and most recently a winner of the NYFA NFT Awards, fall/winter 2022. Bonita is also a Web3 consultant and Co - founder of Black Meta Fest 2022, which was the first ever, Multi Metaverse, educational event highlighting Black Creators in Web3.

Samuel Damfe

Samuel Damfe is an experienced instructional designer gifted at creating an interactive learning experience for both instructors and learners, with a notable capacity for creating engaging learning content targeted toward key demographics. Samuel holds a BTech degree in Mechanical Engineering from The Federal University of Technology Akure. He is specializing in conceptualizing and creating an advanced learning model for all kinds of learners.
